A day in the life of an Assistant Account Manager:
As part of an Account Management Team, you will partner with senior level staff in the following responsibilities:
Respond to Client inquiries and maintain documentation of communication, existing issues, and issue resolutions
Complete routine contract review to ensure accuracy and completeness
Provide renewal summaries to Client and other invested parties
Assist with the issuance and processing of client invoicing and bill discrepancies
Review quotes, binders, and endorsements and makes requests for changes as needed
Support Account Managers and Account Executives with marketing, renewal strategy and proposal preparation
Participate in negotiations with carriers for new and renewal quotes with oversight
Establish and maintain relationships with Clients, carriers, and other vendors
Inform Client of changes that may affect insurance premiums or coverage
Participate in internal department meetings
Perform other responsibilities and duties as requested by leadership
Qualifications
The most successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in insurance and Risk Management or related field
Prior experience/internship within the insurance industry (a plus)
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates/clients
Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information
Effective organizational and time management skills
Demonstrate strong work ethic and positive attitude
Excitement and natural curiosity to learn and develop in a supportive environment
Legally able to work in the United States

We have entry-level Commercial Property and Casualty Account Management roles available in our Houston and Dallas offices. Lockton Associates are expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week to encourage department bonding, learning experience and knowledge transfer, and provide you with exposure to our leadership team. You will become knowledgeable in multiple lines of insurance, claims handling, and financial analysis to ultimately understand how risk management and insurance impact a business.
