As an Actuary for Great West, you will be part of an experienced, collaborative team that drives the strategic direction of the company. You will regularly have the opportunity to work with executives and provide out-of-the-box solutions to help the company achieve profit and growth goals. You will use your master-level skills during the experience-rating process and work daily with underwriters in your assigned region and/or product line. We work hard, yet we promote a work-life balance so that you can be successful both professionally and personally.

Responsibilities include:

• Applying advanced actuarial science techniques and theories to enhance the company’s risk management activities.
• Researching revised rates, rating factors, and pricing models.
• Leading the preparation of quarterly reports and development of new product lines or programs.
• Developing rate filings for multiple lines of business.

Our ideal candidate has:

• A bachelor's degree.
• Successful completion of at least four actuarial exams.
• Sound actuarial skills gained from years of experience in a technical role.
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to and interact with all levels of business professionals.
• The desire to dive into business goals and make immediate contributions.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing Excel. Experience with a programming language such as SQL, Python, or R a plus.
