Intelligence and Analytics Internship

Position Purpose: The mission of the Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA) is to identify and mitigate risks and anticipate emerging threats for our clients. By delivering industry best intelligence products, we enable our customer clients, regulators, and law enforcement partners to better assess controls and respond to fraud. Our suite of intelligence analytical products provide actionable insights to our members and stakeholders to make better decisions. This team is further responsible for the immediate assessment and communication of fraud events to drive claims resolution. The team performs risk assessments, facilitates business impact analysis, creates comprehensive reports, and ensures the timely dissemination to our clients and partners. The success of this team is predicated on effective communication with internal and external partners, and our proactive approach to producing high-level intelligence products and solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage their education and prior work or internship experience to support analyst and investigative operations within this critical department at NICB. Responsibilities: • Interpreting data from various sources to draw actionable conclusions • Assisting development of detailed risk assessments to identify and communicate key fraud indicators to customer clients and law enforcement partners • Facilitating the test and development of dashboards to illuminate criminal networks • Performing analysis and audits of existing intelligence products and processes • Providing strategic and field office support centered on vehicle theft, medical clinic and provider fraud, organized criminal networks, and catastrophe response

Competencies: • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) • Knowledge of relational database management systems, i.e. SQL databases • Preferred understanding of process flows with an ability to identify and test controls • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion to work on a diverse team • Proven analytical and problem-solving aptitude Education, Work Experience, Licensure: • Must attend on a full-time basis an accredited U.S. college or university as an undergraduate (including two-year technical programs), graduate, or post-doctoral student • Must be able to obtain course credit for successful completion of internship assignment • Must have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. If your school does not provide a GPA, you must have maintained a 3.0 high school GPA and meet one of the following alternate criteria: SAT, 1,500 out of 2,400 or 1,000 out of 1,600 (most recent SAT); ACT, 21 or higher. • Preferred areas of study include Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Analytics or Science, Operations, Management Information Systems, or a related field • Previous professional work or internship experience preferred |
