As a Premium Accounting Associate, you perform routine premium accounting/clerical activities with general knowledge of premium accounting transactions requiring collection of premiums, assembling and auditing accounts, processing and posting of account cash, reconciliation of account discrepancies and preparation of various reports. You verify contracts, policy information and account status.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine premium accounting functions • Responsible for insurance customer billing, accounts receivable, and commission payments • Provides service to customers regarding types of payments and reconciles accounts • Handles collections, lapses, and reinstatements • Provides service to brokers and sales personnel regarding commissions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED required 1 year of customer billing and accounts receivable experience.
Knowledge of basic math and accounting concepts is required. Working knowledge and skills of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, and experience with automated accounting systems. Ability to understand and carry out simple instructions in standard situations. Must be Customer service oriented with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and must have some understanding of collection procedures.
