USI Insurance Services (USI) is looking for talented and motivated undergraduates to join our insurance brokerage and consulting teams for a unique and exciting internship experience. If selected, you’ll collaborate with sales and account management professionals on individual and team projects designed to expose you to diverse aspects of the insurance business. The program lasts for 10 weeks in major cities throughout the United States.
As an intern, you’ll receive a comprehensive professional and educational experience through hands-on assignments, projects, and case studies by working alongside team members who are experts in their fields. Program interns will participate in:
Hands - on assignments designed to challenge your capabilities and increase your knowledge of insurance
Prospect and client meetings
Claims and Loss Control visits
Field visits to carriers
Systems and product training
What you’ll do:
Participate in virtual training opportunities, insurance skill development, and role playing to expand your knowledge of the insurance brokerage business under guidance from experts in their fields
Conduct informational interviews, shadow team members from different departments, and explore all facets of the organization
Develop knowledge and understanding of the dynamic career opportunities available at USI
Attend sales, client, and prospect meetings
Take on responsibility for completing research assignments, case studies, and projects under guidance of an experienced team member or mentor
Participate in a summer-long project and present your results and recommendations to USI executives
High performing interns will be considered for full - time opportunities upon graduation

Ideal candidate qualifications
Experience working directly with customers
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Creative problem-solving ability
Successful management of multiple and competing priorities
Creative and strategic thinking skills
Ability to create and deliver dynamic presentations
Aptitude to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
A high degree of self-motivation and drive
Expected bachelor's degree in December 2019 or May/June 2020
A GPA of 3.0 or higher
