CNA’s Underwriting Trainee program offers a rewarding career path for individuals interested in growing a career in Insurance. As an Underwriting Trainee, you will partake in a robust training experience to prepare you for a full-time role as an Underwriter at CNA. Our curriculum provides:

What will I do as an Underwriting Trainee?
After completion of the Underwriting Trainee program, you will transition to a permanent Underwriting position. Underwriters are responsible for the following:
Selecting and pricing risks that have profit potential
Evaluate a business by reviewing industry, business and government data, then deciding whether to accept or decline the risk
Maintaining a steady flow of new and renewal business.

Commitment to develop knowledge and understanding of underwriting
Strong sales aptitude
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to learn rapidly
Excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to influence, overcome obstacles and develop positive business relationships

Requirements for the Program:
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred with a minimum 3.0 GPA; equivalent experience considered
Able and willing to relocate up to two times in one year. The training hub may be a different location than your permanent position. A sign-on bonus will be offered.
Candidate must be available to start in Summer 2018 and be available to attend a multi-week classroom training program in Chicago, IL. Travel and hotel accommodations are provided.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
