The primary purpose of this position is to develop skills to review, appraise and recommend applications for insurance for acceptance, setting terms/conditions and denying insurance. It also involves working closely with members of the underwriting department to become familiar with underwriting operations, policies and procedures; handling questions from agents and insured’s received via telephone and email. Upon satisfactory completion of training, the underwriter trainee will be eligible for an underwriting position.
