In addition to a week of training and orientation, spend time rotating through production teams at host branches located throughout the U.S. During this time interns will log submissions, quote and bind renewal and new submissions, visit client agents with producers, attend carrier meetings, work on specifically assigned projects, work on policy maintenance activities, and work on a project to be delivered in the corporate office in Md. Interns will have an opportunity to interact with employees and managers at all levels of the organization. We consider this to be a 7 week job interview for students who are interested in a career as a wholesale surplus lines producer.
Have an overall grade point average of at least 3.0 of a 4.0 scale
Be at least 18 years of age and able to show proof of legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
Be pursuing a degree in Insurance and/or Risk Management
Additional Salary Information: Our interns earn a weekly stipend of $650 (less taxes) and in addition, we provide hotel suites, rental cars and transportation.
