The International Graduate Trainee Programme is one way of accomplishing this critical goal. This selective program offers comprehensive training for recent college graduates. Successful underwriting track candidates will complete a two year program which includes classroom (20%) and hands-on (80%) training leading to careers in Underwriting. This is an experience-based program combining three core components: foundational classroom training, rotational assignments and industry exams. Below please see specific expectations for these components:
During this two year program a Trainee will be required to attend scheduled classroom training. This training is similar to a university setting, and is conducted by the company’s leading underwriters and other professionals. Classroom training requirements include: • Participating actively in the presentation/discussion. • Demonstrating that (s)he has read the pre-reading material, if applicable. • Asking questions which demonstrate interest in developing a full understanding of the material.
One to three month rotational assignments throughout different departments enable Trainees to gain exposure to a variety of business functions and projects. During each rotation, a Trainee is required to actively participate in various scheduled rotational assignments: • Review rotation guide with rotation manager/specialist to assure that expectations are consistent. • Ask questions which demonstrate interest in developing a full understanding of the subject matter/techniques. • Complete assigned work/tasks in a correct, timely and thorough fashion. Each Trainee will have the opportunity to go on one international rotation as well.
All Trainees are required to continue their education through the passing of industry exams. • CPCU exams: the Trainee will pass 8 exams over a 2 year period with the requirement that the Trainee passes one CPCU exam per quarter.
End Product: Upon successful completion of the program, Trainees will be offered permanent positions, predominantly in our Princeton, NJ location, based upon Company staffing needs and the Trainee’s preferences.

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration • GPA of 3.25 or higher • Demonstrated leadership abilities in college or community activities • Prior internships (at least one internship with meaningful degree of responsibility) • Superior communication skills (oral and written) • Good interpersonal skills • Interest in being part of an international organization • Preferred but not required: • Knowledge of other languages (basic knowledge of one foreign language or expressed willingness to learn a second language) • International experience (international internship, study abroad)
