Entry-level analyst position in Cleveland Clinic's Enterprise Risk and Insurance department
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compiling and analyzing loss data including the creation and preparation of department reports and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
Accountability for Claims Handling (Auto Physical Damage and Lost Property)
Assist in the collection and reporting of underwriting data for all insurance coverages
Maintain the Enterprise Risk & Insurance department SharePoint site
Evaluate requests and coordinate the issuance of Certificates of Insurance
Establish and maintain department electronic files encompassing policies, certificates of insurance, claims and exposure data, and other documents
Prepares, analyzes and communicates key financial information and provides support to management and other staff members regarding financial reporting and other related issues.
Assists with budget preparation and financial planning processes and budget review for compliance and opportunities.
Serves as consultant to all levels of management to provide decision support for initiatives, policies and procedures.
Completes special projects and duties including providing necessary research, forecasting and conflict resolution.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management highly preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Account (CMA) certification preferred.
COMPLEXITY OF WORK:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
One year Accounting, Finance, Healthcare, Investment Banking or Management Consulting experience preferred. Related experience may offset the degree requirement.
Ability to complete basic analytical, consultative and information support through analysis and report preparation.
Demonstrated critical thinking, attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Awareness of key performance indicators, cash flow analysis, product line analysis and proposal development.
Excel proficiency strongly preferred
Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC.
Normal or corrected vision.
Extensive sitting and frequent walking.
Occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.
